A. Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” can often be a confusing text for those who have not studied philosophy. Given this, write two questions that you have when reading this text. One of the questions should be narrow and specific (what does he mean as he writes … ?) and one of the questions should be wider / general (How could this text relate to our criminal justice system?). You do not need to answer your question, but be specific and refer to the text when possible.
B. At this point, describe what you think the main theme or message of this text is in 1-2 paragraphs. Look back through the text and look for the main topics addressed. I know this is a tough text, so just do your best.
C. Describe a time in your life when you found out that a long held belief was not true. What convinced you to change your mind? (Be specific) Explain in 1-2 paragraphs.
