The Capstone culminates in the development of a comprehensive review of the student’s work throughout the course related to the learning objectives. The artifacts captured in the e-portfolio throughout the course will allow students to demonstrate synthesis, integration, and application of knowledge acquisition gained from the coursework within the program of study. The Capstone project provides evidence of educational attainment and exhibits insightful application of doctrine and theory in real world contexts. The Capstone Brief is designed to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their capacity to organize and synthesize previously acquired knowledge across the course curriculum over the two-year DL program. Students will apply key concepts captured in the e-portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of knowledge, skills, and abilities enhanced during the Course. Students will develop and write a literature review that addresses critical strategic issues related to their component or career field and essential elements of course objectives. The e-portfolios are an imperative tool that will assist you in formulating your Capstone Brief and Capstone Paper at the end of the academic year. If used appropriately, the e-portfolio is a collection of information (graded assignments, case studies, notes, etc.) that supports productive learning that can be used as reach-back as you prepare your capstone assignments. The capstone brief shows effective use of the e-portfolio, which was covered in the Foundations lesson blocks. This reading introduced the requirement for an e-Portfolio wherein each student will reflect on their learning experiences and capture those significant moments (evidence) of educational inspiration that they will retain for future use. At the conclusion of the academic year, students will present a 10 to 15-minute graded Capstone brief reflecting on significant learning experiences and what they will most take away from their experience as a student.
