Quick Response

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is a term used for medical products as well as practices that are not considered as part of standard medical care(Shields & Martin, 2012). A CAM practitioner requires a bachelor’s degree along with other training certifications. The practitioner should be able to specialize in specific areas and vast knowledge about dealing with patients. The primary knowledge areas needed includes a passing grade of 0.7 or higher in biological and physical sciences including basic biology from cells to organisms, general laboratory, general chemistry, introduction to environmental sciences, and biological basis of behavior among others. Other courses include behavioral sciences, social sciences, arts, and cultural diversity. The program is available in Canada at affordable tuition and accommodations.
