Create a 3,000 word portfolio on a sector or subsector of your choice, including the following sections:
1. Introduction (500 words).
 Offer an introduction to the sector / subsector that you have chosen.
 Include facts and figures about the sector / subsector, to demonstrate the scale,
power and influence that it has.
 Explain the context of the sector you are reviewing (e.g. global, national, local)
and why you have selected this.
 Provide an overview of the portfolio, explaining what is covered in each section.
2. Ethical issues (500 words).
 Identify and explain the two most prominent ethical issues within the sector / subsector. Identify and explain each issue in detail, including why you selected them, with links to relevant academic and non-academic literature.
 Whilst sustainability is a prominent ethical issue within many sectors, this should feature in the next section. Use this section to focus on other ethical issues within your chosen sector or subsector.
 Be mindful of what might be considered ethical issues. For example, try not to focus on what is practically or legally required, but on what are considered true ethical challenges (e.g. exploitation, fairness, corruption) for the industry you choose.
3. Sustainability issues (500 words).
 Identify and explain the two most prominent issues relating to sustainability within the sector / subsector. Identify and explain each issue in detail, including why you selected them, with links to relevant academic and non-academic literature.
 Be mindful of what might be considered issues relating to sustainability. For example, this can be social or economic sustainability. It does not need to be linked to the environment.
4. Critical assessment of CSR in practice (500 words).
 Critically assess responses to the issues outlined above by key organization’s within the sector / subsector. Identify what companies in your chosen sector are doing about each of the issues outlined in sections 2 and 3. Use explicit reference to individual companies. For this section you are encouraged to cite material from the companies directly, e.g. company reports, the company website etc.
5. Recommendations (500 words).
 Based on the earlier sections, identify 2-3 recommendations for organizations involved in the sector / subsector (e.g. businesses, local councils, governments) to improve the CSR, ethics and sustainability of your chosen sector / subsector.
6. Reflection (500 words).
 Reflect on how your position on CSR, ethics and sustainability has developed over the course of the module.
 You can use any reflective model of your choice (e.g. Driscoll, Kolb, Gibbs), though you should consider your position on these topics at the start and end of the module, and in what ways you might be ethical and responsible in your future career.
