Introduction – Importance of reflection for nursing practice, what model you have chosen to use and why?

What? – Identify key issues raised in the trigger scenario.  Remember to support your writing with references.

So what? – What is the learning disability nurse’s role in relation to the trigger scenario?  What do you need to consider?  For example, you might consider decision-making legislation, i.e., the Mental Capacity Act 2005; how to support and empower Sam to make an informed decision; whether reasonable adjustments are required; what reasonable adjustments you would suggest and why; how you would support communication; who else would need to be involved and why.  This should be the longest section of your work, in which you draw on published literature.

Now what? –  What have you learnt from critically considering this trigger scenario, and how will this inform your practice as a student nurse in the short-term, and as a RNLD in the long-term?
