I‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍dentify and describe a problem or issue, preferably in your area of practice, and justify the need for an investigation through research. The problem or issue must be different to the problem or issue you explored in A1 and A2. (200 words) Identify and describe the practice / workforce problem or issue;

Search the academic databases for research that has already been undertaken on this topic; Utilise the research evidence OR the ‘gap’ in research evidence to justify why more research is required on this topic;

Develop a targeted research question and justify your chosen framework (e.g. PEO or PICO or other). (150 words)

 Conduct a critical review of the research evidence related to your research question: (600 words)

Using the same strategies utilized in A2, critically analyse the research evidence already available on your chosen topic; Include a synthesis of the quality or ‘level’ of research evidence available in relation to your chosen topic, in accordance with the JBI or NHMRC matrix.

If available, refer to a systematic review on this topic; Develop a short re‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍search proposal that includes the following information. Remember to link this information to your research question: (650 words) Type of research (e.g. qualitative, quantitative. Descriptive, experimental), with short rationale; Data source, primary (e.g. people), secondary (e.g. medical records, other databases); Participants (e.g. staff, patients);

Method of data collection (e.g. interviews, focus groups, questionnaires, observations, experiments) Mode of analysis of data (e.g. thematic analysis, statistical analysis); Anticipated outcomes or impact; Timeline for completion; Implications and contribution to the body of knowledge or evidence to improve practice and patient outcomes.

Explanation of how you will disseminate the research findings. Evaluate the ethical issues of your project and how you will address these ethical issues. (200 words) Critically reflect on what you have learned through the development of your research plan.

Focus your critical reflection on the research process, the ethics of research, EBP, and the steps that are involved in developing EBP. (2‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍00 words)
