• Relevance and originality of the research question and research objectives:
• Does the research question have a clear link to theory or a conceptual framework? Does this conceptual framework emerge from the literature review?
• Clarity of hypotheses or propositions:
• In quantitative research: do the hypotheses state with clarity the relations or causal effects that are going to be tested?
• In qualitative research: do the propositions/conceptual arguments clearly state relations between concepts that will inform the data collection for explanatory or exploratory purposes?
