MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP  

You are to find, in the current business press, articles relevant to the course, and reference major management or leadership challenges a specific company is facing. The topic of your article should be related to materials covered in class. In a short paper (2 pages), briefly describe the management situation the company or entity is facing, and what they are doing. Assess the situation as you see it. What are the management issues? Then, the bulk of the paper should be devoted to your opinion of the actions taken and what you would do if you were in charge. Using the course content in response is expected.

Assignment Process and Steps: You are to find, in the current business press, articles relevant to the course and submit a short paper, approximately 2 pages in length. The topic of your article should be specifically related to the course content. It can be related to any material already covered or to material yet to be covered and should be related to the topic of management or leadership.

  • Start by citing the article at the top of the page – make sure you include the author’s name. 

There are four sections to the Article Review:

 1. Briefly describe the business situation the author is writing about (using the author’s name) that the company or workers are facing, and what they are doing about it. Summarize the main points of the article. 

2. Assess the situation as you see it. What are the key management/leadership issues? 

3. Make a direct link to our course reading, citing the specific article, using correct APA format. You are to apply something in our course reading to the article and state how the theory or contents apply or don’t apply to the situation. State how the specific course reading helps you better understand the situation.

4. Then state your opinion of the actions taken, how they are supported in our course literature or not supported, and what you would do if you were the manager (As the manager, I would…) Note: This is the most important part of this assignment.
