The basic problem-solving model includes problem definition, generation of new ideas, evaluation and prioritization of alternatives, as well as implementation and evaluation. This model is applicable when conducting cost/benefit analysis since it helps the decision-makers to explore various alternatives that exist based on the definition of the existing problem.
