Executive summary

Remember that an Executive Summary of a report is just that, a summary. It contains a statement of report purpose and an overview of the actual and specific findings. Generally, it should be no longer than one page and does not count towards the word limit of your report. The Executive Summary can only be written after you have completed your report. Write in past tense (e.g. The purpose of this report was to …). If an Executive Summary is well written the reader should be able to understand the main points, findings, and conclusions of the actual report without having to read the full report. Possible Solution: 

 

The purpose of this report was to provide a self evaluation report regarding different aspects of my personality. In assessing my personality using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator I found out that I had ESTP personality type. I further found out that I had a strong emotional intelligence which is critical in making firm decisions.  In leadership, I found out that I have a charismatic leadership traits which have been demonstrated through my dedication in enhancing environmental conservation since my childhood. This report sis critical in bringing to the fore different aspects of my individual character which is critical in ensuring success in the service industry. Furthermore, the report explores my own self-awareness and examines my ability to problem solve and plan in relation to career skills.

1.0    Introduction

Professional development is a continuous process that one undergoes as they learn more about themselves and how they relate to their environment and to their social circle. To ensure successful career establishment, it is critical for an individual to understand the basic tenets of professional development that involve self-awareness, developing decision making and problem-solving skills. As Moon (2013, p34) urges, these two elements are critical determiners in one’s success in their careers. Through self-awareness, an individual is not only able to know their personality types and how to apply their qualities conveniently but are also able to ensure that their individualized values and motivators are well executed to benefit their career. Furthermore, through self-awareness, one can easily define their personality traits which greatly define their leadership potential hence enabling them to immensely exploit their potential and capability enabling them to establish a solid foundation in leadership in their specific field (Blanchard et al., 2016, p197). Self-awareness as Hamm et al. (2016, p225) observed is critical in influencing how to relate with each other, create and use power to influence others within one’s circle. More so, Moon (2013, p54)
