T‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍his brief requires the student to learn and apply new or different technology. Students should identify and understand the exact nature of the issue at hand to generate and develop solutions through the application of tools, techniques and technology to add value to the research area. During this time students are advised to identify and understand a specific new technology that relates to their chosen response to the brief. Your tutors will help identi‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍fy if this technology is relevant, and where possible direct you to any resource that will help you learn more about it. All students must identify and learn or explore a technology, which is then evaluated as part of their “design” project. They should then generate a digital sketchbook detailing research, design development, prototyping (physical and/or digital) that demonstrates their ideas in applied theory, as well as a final presentation docu‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍ment.
